How to use barcodes to receive materials
Looking for information on how to set up barcodes and print labels to place on our received material to be scanned at time of consumption. Here is what we are trying to accomplish:
- Purchasing orders material against a line item on our PO
- Material arrives and floor staff receives it
- Floor staff populates barcode labels from Mietrak to print and place on the material prior to storing
- barcode includes PO# and receiver# associated with the received material
- Operator pulls material when starting the job and scans the barcode on the material to match it with the BOM item on the router
- PO# and receiver # that are embedded into the barcode somehow attach to the WO to provide material traceability
I have read through various areas of MieSolutions documentation and have not found any type of clear instruction on how to create barcodes with this information, how to print labels, or how to allow operators to scan the materials they're consuming.
